Administration

The County Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Colleton County government. The County operates under a Council-Administrator form of government, and the Administrator serves at the pleasure of the five-member County Council. The Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of County government and advises members of the County Council, recommending policies and helping to set priorities for the provision of programs and services that support the highest quality of life for County residents.

The County Administrator ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and maintains open communications with elected and appointed officials, the business community, legislative delegation members, area governments, and County residents. The Administrator also implements the policies and procedures adopted by the County Council.

The County Administrator also coaches, coordinates, motivates, and further develops County staff to ensure the provision of efficient, effective, and customer-oriented services.  The County Administrator is a leader in maintaining open communications with the community, and establishes and supports an effective system to address ongoing citizen concerns.
