All Colleton County Offices will be closed for Presidents' Day, Monday, February 19, 2024. The Landfill and Convenience Sites will also be closed. Colleton County wishes everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in Colleton County Council Chambers, located at 109 Benson Street, Walterboro, SC, Colleton County will hold a public hearing to solicit public input on community needs and priorities for housing, public facilities, and economic development. At this public hearing Colleton County will provide the results of its needs assessment and the activities which might be undertaken to meet identified needs, including the estimated amount proposed to be used for activities that will benefit persons of low and moderate income.

All Colleton County Offices including the Landfill and Convenience Sites will be closed, Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. 

 

 

Please be advised that the County Council meeting will be cancelled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024 due to anticipated severe weather.

All Colleton County Offices will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving Day Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023.

The Landfill and Convenience Sites will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and will open Friday, November 24, 2023, from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Thursday, September 29, 2022 – All convenience sites and the Landfill will close at 12pm

The Colleton County Accommodations Tax Advisory Board is now accepting funding requests for tourism related activities within Colleton County for 2022-2023. Funding requests that are received and meet the requirements outlined in the funding request application will be considered by the Colleton County Accommodations Tax Advisory Board. On April 6, 2021, Colleton County Council approved Resolution No. 21-R-10, creating the Capital Projects Sales Tax (CPST) Commission. The Commission was tasked with considering proposals for funding capital projects within the County and formulating a question to appear on the ballot in November 2022 to impose a one cent sales tax. The revenues generated by the tax may be used to fund or defray costs of capital improvements which are defined in S.C. Code 4-10-330.
