Colleton County Government is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Animal Shelter Manager in the Animal Services Department. The successful candidate will under general supervision oversee the daily operations of the Animal Shelter, ensure the well-being and proper care of all animals and manage the shelter staff and volunteers. Will also coordinate animal intake and adoptions, maintain facility standards and promote community engagement and education about animal welfare. Reports to the Animal Services Director.
Requires:
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred),
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in animal care, shelter management, or a related field,
- Strong leadership and team management skills,
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving abilities,
- Compassion for animals and commitment to animal welfare,
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays,
- Proficiency in computer applications and record-keeping systems,
A satisfactory pre-employment drug screen and background check are also required.
