Colleton County to Host Open House for Late-Night Business Owners
Colleton County Administration and the Colleton County Sheriff's Office are hosting an open house for late-night establishment business owners in the unincorporated parts of Colleton County on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 5:30 PM. The purpose of this open house is to provide an opportunity for late-night establishment business owners to ask questions they may have about County Ordinance 23-O-09.
Colleton County Ordinance 23-O-09 was advertised for Public Hearing on July 6, 2023, and passed on July 25, 2023. Colleton County defines a late-night establishment as a business that serves alcohol and operates past midnight. The ordinance requires businesses that meet the criteria set forth by the ordinance to apply for a Late-Night Establishment Permit and to submit a safety plan.
In addition to personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, Colleton County Fire-Rescue Officials will be present to answer questions related to life safety and occupancy load.
The open house will be held at the County Council Chambers, 109 Benson Street, Walterboro, SC.
