SBA Disaster Declaration

We have not received word regarding our Individual Assistance (IA) Disaster Declaration as of yet.  However, Berkeley and Orangeburg counties requested a Small Business Administration (SBA) Declaration due to their lower levels of damaged properties.  Late this afternoon, we were notified that they received the SBA Declaration, which covers several adjacent counties, including Colleton.

We will be coordinating with SCEMD to open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) with plans to add Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) resources should we receive an IA Declaration at a later date.

The Governor's press release can be found here.  Citizens in need can visit www.colletonfire.com/recovery for updates, a list of SBA loan options available, and how to apply.

Note that applicants do not have to visit a DLOC to access SBA loans.  They can apply online at sba.gov/disaster or call SBA's Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.  People who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech disability, can dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.
