Colleton County Government is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of General Sessions Court Specialist in the Clerk of Court’s Office. The successful candidate will under general supervision be primarily responsible for managing the administrative functions of a criminal court, including receiving and filing criminal documents, maintaining case dockets, collecting fees, processing warrants, managing jury lists and providing courtroom support during General Sessions hearings, all while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with legal procedures.
Requires a High School Diploma and some vocational school education/training in clerical/data processing and two to three years of clerical experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Successful candidate should possess strong communications and computer skills, familiarity with office equipment, the ability to understand and carry out complex instructions, and the ability to work with the public in a pleasant manner. Pre-employment drug screen and a satisfactory background check also required.
