Colleton County Government is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Director at the Recreation Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming all athletic activities offered by the Recreation Center including supervising the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers. Will plan, schedule, organize and implement programs to meet the needs of Colleton County citizens from all age groups. Will establish practice and game schedules; recruit, train, and evaluate coaches and volunteers; ensuring certification and background checks on all coaches; oversee and assist in setting up and taking down equipment, line fields, manage inspection and repair of sports equipment, etc.; prepare marketing materials; and develop sponsorship/advertising campaigns.
Job requires attendance at all athletic events to include games and sports related meetings. Non-standard duty hours are required as events occur at night or on weekends.
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with emphasis in Recreation and one to two years of full time employment experience in recreation and/or physical education, preferably at the supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a pre-employment drug screen. A satisfactory background check also required.

MINIMUM ANNUAL SALARY: $39,217 to $45,700 (DOQ)
