Colleton County is accepting applications for the position of Delinquent Tax Collector. The Delinquent Tax Collector’s office is charged with collecting delinquent real and personal property taxes from defaulting taxpayers. The successful candidate will, under limited supervision:
- Plan, direct and supervise the activities of the Delinquent Tax Collector’s office.
- Serve as the Mobile Home Licensing Agent for the County.
- Ensure that all department functions are performed in a professional manner and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform related administrative and technical work as required.
- Provide assistance/information to the public on delinquent tax matters.
Requires a high school diploma, plus technical/vocational education/training in business, accounting or related field, supplemented by two to three years of experience in government finance, accounting or collections, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Pre-employment drug screen and satisfactory background check also required.
