Colleton County Officials Release Statement

COLLETON COUNTY - This evening, Colleton County Council completed the second reading of three ordinances. The proposed ordinances will allow Colleton County to grow and develop strategically and economically, while remaining conservation oriented. In an effort of transparency, and with respect to current litigation, we are issuing the following statement:

“Colleton County Council and Administration, in collaboration with citizens of Colleton County, have worked tirelessly to preserve the Colleton we know, while thoughtfully looking to the future of how we build a strong economy for all Colletonians. Through these progressive and innovative legislative initiatives, we hold the key to our future. Growth is inevitable, but by working together we can continue to be good stewards of our natural resources. We refuse to let Colleton County lose its identity. Our rivers still run free, our land tells our stories, and our neighbors still look out for each other. This is our home.
